SEBASTIAN — At a time when law enforcement officers are arresting adults across the nation for preying on teens and children online, Florida Department of Law Enforcement officials want to make sure that children across the state are protected.
That’s why, as part of the agency’s Computer Crime Center in Tallahassee, they’re hosting a series of Cyber Security Awareness for Everyone (C-Safe) seminars throughout the state, designed to provide valuable lessons on staying safe online.
Seminars and programs held recently in Vero Beach and Sebastian Charter Junior High, among other places, were presented by Mary McLaughlin and Neil Sindicich, Cyber Security analysts for the Computer Crime Center. It focused on securing computers for both private citizens as well as businesses, and offered some basic personal security practices that parents need to know to protect their children from dangers online.
OSA Editorial Comments:
I am glad to see that officials are taking a active roll in trying to solve some of the major problems, with Cyber-Security seminars!
