IT’s Better The Second Time Around With CHWradio
By Online Security Authority on May 11, 2009 in Thoughts on Security
In creating my last post for CHWradio.com which covered the last four months of our “Guest List”. I stopped and listened to the show we had with Ed McGarr. The information Ed shared with us is good enough to charge admission. Seriously, Ed explains with clarity just what we are all up against and the solution of how we as responsible cybercitizens will make a difference.
Ed speaks from authority coming from a security and marketing background in an executive capacity with companies like Novell/WordPerfect, Sorensen Media, and Sendforce. I found Ed’s transitional explanation from the corporate world to the end user; people like you and I, and what’s needed to keep our families and children safe online easily understood. If all this technology and talk about security has you confused then take the time to listen to Ed. You’ll be pleasantly surprised as to how much you’ll learn and even have a few of those ahaa moments.
However, what I found additionally interesting is the fact that after Novell purchased WordPerfect that Ed chose to try something new. “I received a few shekels”, said McGarr. And so, he became involved with the Internet and the online marketing of an information product. It will be fun to watch Ed develop as an online Entrepreneur and what products and services he develops. You can find Ed’s new website at www.Power2Lose.com and a second site of his daughter who’s a U.S.A. National Champion in flute. You can see his daughter play at www.HelenMcGarr.com.
The solution covered by Ed is what both Bill and I have talked about and built our informational sites around. Ed could have been a spokes person for what the CyberHood Watch has been saying for awhile. If you want to enjoy a hassle-free computing experience then let the expert services of PC Pandora and Invisus Direct handle it all for you. My mother who is 83 is on the service… and I feel good about that. If you have tech-savvy kids, your parenting skills for the 21st Century need the services. Several of our radio guests have echoed this.
