What’s the difference Expert vs. Authority?
An “expert” is (FYI) The following statement appeared in David Nivens autobiography “The Moon is a Balloon” where he expounds the true meaning of the word “expert”. As in “Ex” meaning something that might have existed but is no longer useful, and the phonetic tail piece “Spurt” being a drip under pressure!
An authority is a student of his/her field!
They have the power to influence or command thought, opinion, or behavior. The power or right to command or act derived from opinion, respect, or esteem; influence of character, office, or station.
You could definitely call this our mission statement and we promise to do our absolute best to live up to IT.
I Love this quote, when asked by interviewer Richard Warner “what had made A&M so successful”, Alpert replied: “We had a feel. What we did was respond to our gut.
