I don’t want to live in a police state where the Department of Homeland Security has the power to set ID requirements for our every move — and I know you don’t either.

Today you can do something about it. Provisions for the REAL ID National ID card have been slipped into the immigration bill — due for a vote today or tomorrow. We need you to contact your elected officials to stop them from going forward.

The US Senate is scheduled to vote either today or tomorrow on two amendments that will remove Real ID provisions from the immigration bill.

Real ID is a very, very real national identification card.  Sixteen states have passed legislation rejecting REAL ID: now it’s time for the Senate to do their part.  You can fax your Senators and take immediate action by visiting:

Please point your friends and families and members to the above URL: they can fax their Senators directly from the site.  The last time I did this, the  Senate received over 20,000 faxes in 26 hours…let’s beat that record!
