WHY:
The Internet is an exciting, eye-opening place for children, but it has more than its fair share of potential pitfalls, like inappropriate content, downloadable programs secretly laced with malicious code, and even stalkers and predators. There are also lesser-known hazards like cyberbullying, where someone uses his or her cool digital device to send or post messages or images intended to hurt or embarrass someone. More than 40 percent of teens have experienced some form of cyberbullying over the last year, and for teenage girls, the number is even higher.
