Indian attorney Hemanshu Nigam’s job with a US social networking website is to police the sexual predators lurking the youth-oriented sites and end up assaulting gullible and innocent females.
Many parents of minor victims of such predators have sued the website. They charged it with not confirming the age of its users, thus causing threat to the underage members.
However, a Texas District Judge Sam Sparks dismissed all the claims against the website company, arguing that the Communications Decency Act of 1996 exempts it from liability for ineffective security measures and policies relating to age verification. Forcing the site to confirm the age of each user, “would stop its business in its tracks and close this avenue of communication,” Sparks said.

Obviously, Sparks’s verdict isn’t encouraging for the aggrieved victims. Knowing the nature of its website business, the company is ready to face “a very long battle.”
The present suit relates to the family of a 14-year-old girl who says she was sexually assaulted by one Pete Solis, a 19-year-old website user. The minor, who was unnamed in the suit, says that Solis claimed to be a high school senior to gain her trust and contact information. He was later arrested and indicted for sexual assault.
OSA Editorial Comments:
I guess we don’t have to wonder where I stand this issue, to Police the Internet has to be the only course of action if we are going to the future of online security and the threat of the online Predators, if we can’t catch them and punish for there crimes, how do we even stand a chance against the rest the cyber-crime world!
We need to start making the Predators & Pedophiles pay with real punishment or real jail time! And we need to begin to say: “enough is enough” or scream out from the rooftops that
“Were not going to Take IT Anymore!!”
What a eye opener we have to start getting tough with the would of hackers, crackers and jackers do we just continue hide behind monitors allow the internet criminals to get away day after day?
I guess, I am the only person that I know that is so totally feed up with everything that has to do cyber criminals not having to pay any consequences for their actions!
