Senate Blocks Immigration Bill

WASHINGTON (AP) – President Bush’s immigration plan to legalize as many as 12 million unlawful immigrants while fortifying the border collapsed in the Senate on Thursday, crushing both parties’ hopes of addressing the volatile issue before the 2008 elections.
The Senate vote that drove a stake through the delicate compromise was a stinging setback for Bush, who had made reshaping immigration laws a central element of his domestic agenda. It could carry heavy political consequences for Republicans and Democrats, many of whom were eager to show they could act on a complex issue that has sparked deep public concern.
“Legal immigration is one of the top concerns of the American people and Congress’ failure to act on it is a disappointment,” a grim-faced Bush said after an appearance in Newport, R.I. “A lot of us worked hard to see if we couldn’t find common ground. It didn’t work.”
Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., his party’s lead negotiator on the bill, called the defeat “enormously disappointing for Congress and for the country.” But, he added: “We will be back. This issue is not going away.” Let’s hope he is not right…

Hey Everyone, thanks for taking an active roll and contacting your state officials on behalf of the OSA Network…
We are very grateful for all of you, that voted by sending a fax from our website.
We have to stay on top off the issues and know that outside of the Internet world there is a WWWeb, the media, businesses and governments that promotes thousands of lies and deceit, that have nothing to do with the truth. Just like Joe used to say: “I Just Want Facts Mam”
Here are 2 examples, one that just happened and one that happened just a few weeks ago….

Bush always say;s he wants to protect American lives.Well start building the fence now.He can start this monday, if he wants to,with no interferance from either party.Nothing has been done to make our boarders safe, sence 9/11.Listen to the people and stop siding with those freeloaders, that have said “to hell with your laws we are coming in” they have cost this country billions.Enough is enough.Remember if Ted Kennedy is for it,look out.

It would be a lot more cost-effective to legalize them rather than deport them. If they are legal citizens, then they will have to pay taxes like everyone else.
Besides, America was founded by illegals.
