Ft Nanny Jobs

When you are looking for a full time nanny position, remember that just like other full time jobs it will usually be a 40 hour work week. As such, those who work ft nanny jobs should receive pay for a 40 hour work week. Anything over that is considered to be overtime, so be sure to have the exact hours that you are expected to work stated clearly in the contract between you and your employer.
According to the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act, a full time live in nanny or live out nanny is entitled to time and a half for anything over the agreed 40 hours per week. You will need to figure out what your hourly fee is and then determine what the time and a half amount is. Remember that it is very important for you to discuss what you will get paid for overtime and have the amount you will be paid for extra hours worked included in your contract before accepting the job.
If you are interested in ft nanny jobs but worried about things such as a lack of benefits, then you should know that many families now offer benefits, such as dental and health insurance. After all, working as a full time nanny is considered to be a career and most careers offer benefits. As a general rule, a nanny who is in a full time position should be offered some type of paid vacation and most holidays off.
FT nanny positions can start to feel a little lonely and may make you wonder if you have made the right career choice. There are support groups available for nannies, especially for those who are in a full time position as a live in nanny and are away from home. Try searching online for nanny support groups in your area. If you went through an agency to secure the position, then often times they will offer different groups to join that will allow you to network with others in the same line of work.
Perhaps one of the biggest concerns when considering ft nanny jobs is the safety factor and there are some guidelines that you may want to keep in mind when you are getting ready to meet a family for the first time. Ask them for a list of references and then call each and every one of them in order to get some background info about what they are like. Finally, if you do not feel safe or comfortable living in the home of your new employer for any reason, then you should leave the premises.
